"Spring" Saint Bernard creamer, sugar dish, and plate set

Posted by Amy Bolin on

This is a Hand Painted Treasure set!  Butterflies, flowers, lady bugs, and mushrooms - SPRING!  It's coming, I know it is.  This little Saint pup and her mom are enjoying the spring garden - tulips and daffodils galore.  Fluttery butterflies, crawling lady bugs, morel mushrooms... All of these things are fun to find and chase through the garden.

Here is a photo tour of the painting of the plate, followed by a shot of all three finished pieces.  Enjoy!

Here is a peek at the blanks I started with, a cute little matched sugar & creamer set + a spring green plate in a fun design.

Paint sketch in place!

I have a bad habit of starting with the subject and saving the background for last :)

Adding some fluttery friends & flowers!

A few more details...

And we have a complete set!  If that doesn't cure you of your cabin fever, nothing will!

Happy Spring!

Thank you for visiting my blog and website.  Next project: Ceramic plate turned hand painted one of a kind clock!

Decorative Plates! Painting Plate #1

Link to eBay auction:'ve been painting on "treasures" in 2016.  It's a nice change from the canvas, wood, and paper that I've used almost exclusively for over a dozen years!  Thrift stores are addictive, so are places like Hobby Lobby (where I found a cute set of plates that I had to purchase - this [...]
